Social Media

 For the social Media we created a instagram account for our band,

I started off by posting pictures of each band member to represent their part in the band. After that I posted a little sneak video of the music video shooting and the song to make the audience more excited for the upcoming song. I also decided to post some behind the scenes to show that it is professional. Then I posted pictures of the photo shooting to show the hole band in one picture and to show the audience all the band members in one picture. I decided to use a picture from the music video shooting because I thought that it looks way more professional if the profile picture is of the band playing on stage. I  even tried to keep the colours in reds and oranges because I feel like these colours represent the band really well.  The next thing I posted is a listing of gigs in January saying when and where and another post of the band and the label ~The Lostboys ~

Digipack

  Digipak Photoshoot

The week following the shoot, Theresa and I gathered the band members together to do a photoshoot in the photography studio. As we wanted to then edit and tint the background, we decided that this location would be most useful, as it would allow us to have a plain background to work with. 

Theresa worked on gathering the members and making sure that they had outfits - we strayed slightly from our initial idea of making the costumes overly 70/80s and giving each band member a distinct style. This was due to primarily a lack of time. We did however think that if everyone was dressed smart casual, in a similar beige/black tone, then the group would look put together.

Creating the Digipak

 

After selecting my top 5 photos, I started working on the digipak. Using the software Canva - that I had previously used 

to create my digipak draft.

 

I first had to come up with a name for the album and the band, as I wasn't happy with the names previously chosen. For the band, I came up with the name 'Lost Boys' as I thought it was quite fun and boyish, then the album I called 'The Playback' as a reminiscence of the 80s which of course our band take inspiration from. 

 

I followed what I had done in my draft with the colours as I tried to contrast the album with both pink and blue. I used a Serif font for the title and inside message as I thought it looked more personal and vintage. I also believe it played in nicely with the pink background that echoed a feminine touch, perhaps appealing to a teenaged girl audience. 

 

For the images, I chose two from the photoshoot for the front and back covers as they depicted the band as a whole. For the inside, I picked two of the photos that Emm took on our shoot day as I thought they were simplistic and did not distract from the disc or the writing.
