I did like it not only because it was my friends tiktok also because it was a really cute tiktok and everyone on the tiktok looked really pretty and I felt like giving it a like.

What is the theory? 

For the first time young audiences are watching less TV due to the fast, interactive media  that they have become exposed to

The most important part of networking is our acmes to each other- social media allows us to be connect to each other

Social Media allows us to not only share media but create it, the lack of quality in a lot of posts allows us to make it quickly and share it quickly, the fact that it is only popular for a shortamound of time doesn't matter as the product took such short amount of time to make 

we have balanced the skill of sharing and consuming and connecting with each other

Media has become a cheap and globally available tool for online sharing 

One to many communication 

only way to communicate years ago was in person or on the telephone ( only 2 people were able to talk)

many to many communication 

Now it is possible to communicate with a high amount of people at the same time 

Example; little girl (9) started to make pictures of her school lunch rating it and posted them many people started to follow her on social media. Then school told her not to do it anymore so she posted a post saying I'm sorry but I can't post my school lunch anymore because of my school. Then people started to tell the school that they can't tell her not to post her school lunch in the internet that she got the right to do that.

More media always means more argument 

Clay Shirky said that the Audience behavior has changed due to the internet and the ability for audiences to create their own content   at home thanks to the lower cost of technology This new audience doesn't just consume media, but also produces it- creating the term 'prosumer'

Workshop 2- Camera/Lens

 To focus something zoom in with lens.

Look at the little monitor during shooting not big one TV is bad quality other one much better ( black screen)

FPS: is frames per second (weird hangover of 50 years ago) to make a dance or something more elegant make the FPS higher.

Shutter: is how the camera sees every movement. The shutter is in degree. For example 60 degree ( in general lower shutter) is good for for band, dance or metallic music videos or also for scary scenes . When the shutter is higher   ( for example 360) everything is more blurry which is good for old fashion things or in general also emotional situations/ dreamy. The normal shutter is on 180 degrees.

Lenses: 

Before take the lens off we have to turn the camera off so nothing breaks 

Two types of lenses:

1. Zoom lens good for zooming in. We used the lens in our opening sequences last year.

2. Prime Lens; More focused and just looks nicer , 

measured in mm, Each different number on the lenses (the mm) makes a different picture. When filming the music video working through the lenses box ( from the highest number to the lowest number on the lenses)is a good idea because a normal structure is starting with a wide shot and ending with the last closeup. The lenses box starts with 85mm and ends with 18mm 

The 18mm lens makes a amazing focus 

to focus on the picture we have to use a measure band the measure the distance of the camera and the person who needs to be in focus to do that properly there is a focus plain which is to put the first part of the measure band on it

It is better to make more interesting compositions for the band than the normal basic band positions everybody knows.

new idea for music video 22/09/2021

Alex got a new idea  for song which is ''Highschool''  by Sami rash.

The main character is  sitting in his room singing the depressing song about Highschool which is online because of covid but there are polaroids on his wall then zoom in in each Polaroid and then it is shown back to when he was happy to basically say that life isn't actually that bad and that he used to have happy moments. That creates many different set ups .

after each zoom in to polaroid back in his room and again zoom in in happy moment.

much better to actually make it than old idea which was filming the hole thing is a Highschool because it is hard to create a Highschool class or more rooms because rooms in Hurtwood are very different to other Highschools

Henry Jenkins

Henry Jenkins is interested in the media of the online world. He explores the concept of online media becoming participatory and interactive. This has an impact on its audience, behaviors and consequently  how they consume media.

Producers making media for us has stoped being the case.

Textual poachers- Jenkins explores the concept of how fans construct their own culture by poaching content from the mass media. This leads to creating new content based on popular media texts which builds up a huge following.

Participatory Culture- Jenkins explores the how audiences are active and create participants rather than passive consumers. They create online communities, produce new creative forms, collaborate to solve problems ' Collective Intelligence'. `-

Fandom- refers to the social structures and cultural practices created by the most passionately engaged consumers of mass media properties. Henry Jenkins argues that fans form part of a'participatory culture' in which audiences are active and creative participants in a text.

They also engage in textual poaching-selecting the elements of a text which are most appealing to them &using these elements as basis of fan art, gifs, artifacts, cosplay 

Jenkins theorized that this current media world is all about ''Spreadable Media''

color:  there is a lot of orange green and yellow and its filmed in the night/evening

narrative: it switches between her singing on the street and her following her friends because she thinks they offset her on her birthday so she sent him a message in the end and when she enters her room her two friends are in her room with a cake and balloons but then the guy reads the message and blows the candles out. 

The song is called are we friends or not because she thinks the guy doesn't care about the fact that it is her birthday and it seems to her that they aren't friends if he acts like that

in the begging there is a scene where the star persona texts her guy friend asking ,, hey are we still on tonight?'' and he replies ahh sorry something came up after there is shown him telling the other girl that he doesn't know what to say.

it seems like she gets jealous because she thinks that her guy friend prefers to hang out with the other girl ,,Sarah'' than her.

                           

she texted him that she is normally a  understanding person but the fact that she saw him hanging out with the other girl ,,Sarah'' on her BIRTHDAY is something she doesn't understand and also that he has been really fake friend lately so she thinks they should be friends anymore

and then: bye forever I guess.

characters: 

the star persona is zeph, she is a asian girl with cool make up and baggy clothes her hair is dyed (red) and in two messy buns she also walks around with a transparent umbrella.

the other two character are a boy and a girls the boy  seems to be her best friend because in the beginning are shown some polaroid pictures the girl is probably also a good friend but not as good as the boy because there is only one picture where she is shown and also the star persona only texts the guy and not the girl.

CEMS:

there are many close ups and zoom in shots and also tracking shots, and pov shots.  you can see that it is idle pop because of the lighting in the music video and the colors.

it switches between her following her friends after she saw them on the street walking around and just her sitting on stairs and some other places singing the song and listening to music on headphones.

girl sits in her room and starts to write a love letter to her ex girlfriend she's a really cool girl with colorful clothes then there are many flashbacks to when she was with that girl and it switches between her singing/writing the letter and her being with er ex.
